Mineral exploration often takes place on privately owned land, where local residents may react with curiosity, caution, or outright opposition. The first contact between exploration teams and communities can set the tone for everything that follows. Open dialogue, early engagement, and transparent communication can make the difference between conflict and collaboration.
At this conference, speakers from Estonia, Finland, Sweden, and beyond will share practical experiences, present case studies, and discuss strategies that work in real life. Topics will range from community engagement and sustainability criteria to governance approaches that reduce risk and foster lasting relationships between industry, authorities, and society.
The day will also feature a screening of the award-winning documentary “Europe’s Lithium Paradox”, followed by a discussion with the audience. The film, recognised at multiple international festivals, offers a candid look at Europe’s ambitions in the green transition and the complex realities behind them.
