WP lead Tim Kearsey (UKRI)
The overall objective of the WP1 is to deliver high-quality knowledge exchange between EGT scientists and established researchers from GEUS, GTK, UKRI and UOULU
This workpackage is responsible on the following:
- strengthening the research capacity of EGT scientists by providing training in state-of-the-art techniquesfor geological, geophysical and geochemical surveying, digital data capture and management, 3D modelling, mineral resource assessment and processing, and geothermal energy development,
- improving the dissemination and utilisation of geoscience information by Estonian scientists, government authorities, infrastructure professionals and the public, thus contributing to the socio-economic development of Estonia (all tasks),
- achieveing long-term institutional strengthening of EGT by creating a core of trained experts in modern methods of geological data collection, data management, digital workflows, 3D visualisation and analysis (all Tasks).
This most comprehensice workpackage is divided into 7 main tasks, each with several sub-activities. Click on a task to read more about the sub-activities related to each task.
- Task 2.1 Scoping visit to assess skills, capacity, and data management at EGT
- Task 2.2 Transition from 2D mapping to state of the art 3D model building practices
- Task 2.3 Implementing advanced geological surveying techniques
- Task 2.4 Geological skills training
- Task 2.5 The EU green deal challenging exploration and valorisation methods of critical raw materials
- Task 2.6 Enhancing expertise in geochemical and geophusical studies
- Task 2.7 Strenghtening the knowledge base in geothermal energy studies
