Introduction to geophysical and petrophysical data in sedimentary deposits for geothermal and ATES systems

13-21 November 2023
Participation is restricted to EGT-TWINN partner organisations
The EGT-TWINN project action 2.7.2 „Interpretation of geophysical and petrophysical data in sedimentary deposits for geothermal and ATES systems“ will be organised on November 13th–21st, 2023 at the GEUS headquarters in Copenhagen.
This action aims at providing EGT geologists with an overview of data and methods used in geothermal energy exploration and exploitation, including sedimentary facies recognition in a sequence stratigraphic approach, about the petrophysical down-the-hole logging techniques as well as gives an overview of seismic data acquisition and interpretation.
The training course is complimented by five days fieldwork in recognizing the facies and sequence stratigraphic boundaries in the siliciclastic sequences which is followed by two-days observed data interpretation at GEUS. The action 2.7.2 will be participated by five geologists from EGT and is intended for preparing these EGT geologists for the follow-up studies on the sequence stratigraphic research of the Ediacaran–Cambrian siliciclastic rock sequence in the Estonian drill cores.
