From the opening talk on regional opportunities by Jaak Jürgenson (EGT) to high-level keynotes and case studies from Finland, the UK, and Denmark, the day covered a broad spectrum of geothermal topics — shallow and deep systems, aquifer storage, mapping, permitting, pilot projects, and market developments.
Keynote speaker Alan Bischof (University of Oulu) gave a comprehensive overview of the status and future of geothermal energy in the Nordic-Baltic region. Speakers from GTK, Rototec Oy, Quantitative Heat Oy, BGS, GEUS and ATES A/S added their perspectives, showcasing real-world progress and future potential across Europe.
What truly stood out, however, was the warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day. The conversations — both on stage and in the coffee breaks — reflected a shared drive to make geothermal a key pillar of the region’s energy future.
Tomorrow, we continue with more sessions — and you can still join us online via livestream.
On Day 3, we’ll hit the road to explore geothermal installations and sites across Estonia.
